Engineers play a vital role in driving societal progress. Despite being home to the nation's leading engineering institutions, Indiana faces a shortage of talent. ACEC Indiana has made a commitment to student outreach and engagement, aiming to ignite a passion for engineering in Hoosier students. This session will address the data behind our talent challenges, the significance of career exploration and hands-on learning experiences, and how Indiana engineers are supporting schools and students.
Located in southwest Ohio, the Butler Tech Aviation Center offers students career exploration, hands-on training, and industry-recognized credentials. Through partnerships with local businesses and the FAA, students gain practical skills and certifications, preparing them for careers in aviation. This presentation will highlight how the center fosters workforce development and creates pathways to success in the growing aviation industry.
Adam Snoddy is the Principal of the Butler Tech Aviation Center, located in southwest Ohio. He was previously a social studies teacher for 14 years, including 10 years at Butler Tech's main campus.
